Quality Assurance Inspector 2nd Shift

Description:Maintain quality standards to assure that procured raw materials, manufacturing output, and imported finished goods conform to specific parameters that define product quality.


1. Performs inspections of raw or finished goods. Duties also include problem solving, evaluations, recommendations and documentation for course of action based upon the results of inspection.

2. Performs In-Process/Final Inspection duties. These duties include assistance to create and maintain control charts using statistical techniques. Inspection and Auditing of the process and the charts are also duties. Documentation and communications based upon the chosen corrective action are to be performed by the Technician.

3. Inspections are based upon standards. Standards can be in the form of Approved Product Samples, Drawings or Procedures. Another example of a standard would be MIL-STD 105E used as a basis for product sampling plans within the QAD. A duty of the technician is enforcement of standards or of product disposition. On occasion assistance in creation of a procedure or in initiating a system to procure a standard would be an assigned task to complete the inspection process.

4. Knowledge and accuracy in the use of gages is expected as a Technician. Common equipment used are calipers, go/no-go gages, and multi-meters. Comparison of the measurable data to the standard and other such inspection documentation are typical.

5. Project work related to a current business need such as capability studies, data collection or the creation of supporting documentation or methods might be required. As required, assistance in the inspection of consumer/distributor returns for evaluations as to their cause of non-conformance. Skills in quality techniques and terminology for these evaluations as well as skills for small project management are valued.

6. Emphasis is placed upon good communication skills both written and verbal for efficient notifications and documentation necessary as a Technician.

7. Technicians use computers as tools for documentation and communication. Commonly used software includes, GroupWise for internal e-mail communications, Word, Excel and some Access. General Computer literacy is expected.

8. Colleagues are to take an active part in maintaining a safe workplace for themselves, and co-workers, both in abiding by the rules and regulations set forth by Tetra and in suggesting ways to improve our workplace.
Qualifications:Education

High school diploma. Up to two years college or technical school preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience in a QA system preferred. Computer experience helpful and preferred. Experience or demonstrated understanding of statistical concepts or drawing reading helpful. Skill enhancing advanced education in addition to the required high school diploma is preferred.
