Project Engineer

We are UPG Aquatics, one of the world's largest manufacturers of aquarium products with such brands as Tetra, Marineland and Instant Ocean, Jungle and Perfecto.

Key skill sets/responsibilities include:

• Focus on execution of projects including: internal product design/development, co-development with a supplier, and sourced products.

• Internal technology resource.

• Technical project team member responsible for:

o   Design and development of products briefed by Marketing

o   Project planning

o   Product documentation

o   Development and execution of test plan including mechanical, thermal and electrical testing.

o   Successful approval from appropriate regulatory agencies (UL, TUV, JET, etc.)

• Develop technical timelines and engineering project plans.
• Work with suppliers domestically and abroad- familiarity working with Asian suppliers a plus.
• Prepare formal reports/presentations and weekly progress reports.
• Experience with injection molding/basic mold design, part design for assembly, and general knowledge of manufacturing practices.

• Experience with consumer product design a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

•·       B.S. in related Engineering field, M.S. preferred.

•·       Minimum of 3-5 years experience in consumer product development supplying Mechanical Engineering support, project management, and injection molding expertise to similar operations.

•·       PC Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks or Pro/E 3D design software, and MS Office / Word / Excel / Power Point /Project
